April 2010
A Month Of Spring is almost here!
We are now accepting pre-orders for our brand spankin' new single, a three-track seven-inch of distorted pop bliss. Produced by us and recorded in our very own, very cozy Haymarket studios; the gorgeous sleeve was designed by our dear faraway friend, Krister Bladh, and the songs were mastered at Non-Stop Sound by the esteemed Jon Chaikin. We're quite ecstatic about this latest release, and you should be, too! As a preview, we decided to have the title track freely downloadable. Just right click and save this. Did you just shout out loud and exclaimed in high heavens that you love it? Well then head on over to the shop section of our website to pre-order it. The actual release date for the single is May 15th, and all pre-order shipment will be mailed out on that very day.

March 2010
We're so thrilled to announce our participation in the New York City Popfest this coming May! We're slated to play on May 23rd, and it's an all-dayer event, too! The venue is called Littlefield and it's located in Brooklyn, doors open at 1pm. We're playing with some of our favorite bands like The Embassy, A Smile And A Ribbon, Sea Lions, The Secret History, Neverever, Bunnygrunt, The Young Friends, For Ex-Lovers Only and Santa Monica Swim And Dive Club, that's a total of ten bands in just one day. Purchase your tickets here.

The whole event actually opens on the 20th, Thursday, at the Cake Shop and ends on the 23rd. A total of thirty three bands are participating and it's going to be a blast for sure! We're pretty excited to be in the same popfest as The Wake, Tender Trap, Horowitz, Elephant Parade, and tons more. We'll make sure to see all the bands and we hope to see some of you there. Come up to us and say hello.

February 2010
We recently received the master for the 7" single A Month Of Spring and it sounds fantastic. Muchos kudos to our friend Jon Chaikin for a masterful job. We should be sending them off to the pressing plant in the next couple of weeks. These are exciting times!

In other news, our EP Leafy Lanes is sold out! We no longer carry it but you can purchase the digital versions from our Bandcamp page. Oh and this just in, there are still a few copies available from our favourite distro shops: Vollwert (Germany), Apple Crumble (Japan), Pebble Records (U.K.) and Fraction Discs (Sweden).

Lastly, there are now only two Haymarket t-shirts available from our site, both sizes are small. It's now an extremely rare commodity so do yourself a favor and buy one for yourself. But please remember to e-mail us first if you decide to buy one.

January 2010
Happy 2010! With the new year comes a new site design. Sky blue watercolor splotches, irregular lines, streaming mp3s, magenta links, simple white background, some new photographs... We like it and we hope that you like it, too.

We're also happy to announce that upon rummaging through our things in our little music room, we found some Haymarket t-shirts hidden underneath winter blankets and stacks of books and magazines. These were left-overs from the Half-Steps gig we organized three years ago back in Manila. If you go to the brand spankin' new shop section of the site, you will notice that we're selling very limited quantities of these swell tee's for cheap. They're now only available in adult small, unfortch. Before ordering, please e-mail us first at appleorchardpop [@] gmail.com to check for availability.

December 2009
'Tis jolly to be season as Christmas is just around the corner, how time flies so quick. As an early Christmas gift to you dearest faraway friends, our Captain Sensible cover, "One Christmas Catalogue" is now available for download as part of an online compilation entitled Holly, Ivy And Mistletunes. Just visit the Filipino Indiepop Scene blog or MySpace page to find download links. The track by the way, was voted Christmas indie single of the day back in the 12th of December by the lovely folks of the Indiemusic Database site. In other news, the songs for the 7" single A Month Of Spring has already been mailed for mastering. Mastering will be done by Jon Chaikin, sleeves will be designed by Krister Bladh. Pressing will come shortly and we hope that everything will be ready by next spring. Until then, happy holidays!

November 2009
We have set up our own Bandcamp site. There, you can find our tune, "Wide Awake" which is the very first song we recorded. It's a hard-to-find track and now, we're making it available to everyone as a single song download. You can check it out here. You can also download tracks from our debut full-length, and "Hit Or Miss" from our latest EP, Leafy Lanes, which is still available although very, very few copies are on hand.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the release of our 7" single A Month Of Spring has been pushed back to early next year. To tide you over, watch out for a Christmas cover coming this end of November. We are putting on the final touches to a Captain Sensible cover, "One Christmas Catalogue", which will be included in a free online mini-compilation from the Filipino Indiepop Scene collective. The comp should be ready by the end of November.

October 2009
Last September, we guested on Phoning It In and performed a few of our songs acoustically over the phone. Included in our set was our first single, "A Hiding Smile", the title track to our debut full-length "Half-Steps Toward Bright Skies", a Field Mice cover and a couple of brand spankin' new tunes. Everything in their stripped-down, over-the-phone lo-fi glory.  Listen in for some lo-fi goodness and awkward conversation here. Merci beaucoup to Nadav for having us.

In other news, we're working with one of our dear faraway friends, Spazzkid about a remix of one of our songs from the Leafy Lanes EP (there's still a few copies left so hurry, hurry, hurry!).  It's a first for us having our track remixed and we're awfully thrilled.  We'll certainly make it available for download as soon as it's done.

September 2009
You can now get to download Apple Orchard's cover of The Lucksmiths' "The Great Dividing Range" from the Filipino Indiepop Scene's tribute to The Luckies called Music To Hold Hands To. It's free and you can download the tribute album here.

Like what we've mentioned previously, we're planning to issue a 7" single that we hope gets released sometime later this year. You can watch the video of the lead-off track, "A Month Of Spring" (and also download a bunch of unreleased tunes) in the media section.

And just a reminder, our new EP Leafy Lanes is still available, limited to a hundred copies so get yourself a copy now! While you're at it, check out our debut full-length, Half-Steps Toward Bright Skies, it's currently on sale. $5 in the US, $7 for the rest of the world. Now that's what we call a steal!

August 2009
We have been rather busy the past year writing and recording, and now, we have assembled five of the most notable tunes we've penned in recent months and called it Leafy Lanes. The CDr-EP is our first release after the starry-eyed haze of the Edition 59 Turning Point 3" and the hushed whirlpool that was Half-Steps Toward Bright Skies, both issued last year. Misty at certain points, a little silvery at times, Leafy Lanes includes a pensive Carnival Park cover, as well. The Leafy Lanes EP is priced at $5 including shipping to any part of the world. Order yourself a copy now. The EP is limited to only 100 copies.

July 2009
Welcome to our new website! We have quite a few goodies in store for you. For starters, you can download a bunch of unreleased tunes in the media section. We are almost done with our new 5-song CDr-EP, as well. Entitled Leafy Lanes, we are now accepting pre-orders, just click here. The CDr-EP will officially be available on the 15th of August. Next up is a 7" single which we hope gets released sometime later this year. Oh, a Lucksmiths cover is another one to watch out for as part of a Luckies tribute MP3 compilation done by Filipino indiepop bands which should be free to download later in August.

Meanwhile, you can hear a Prefab Sprout cover in a fab MP3 covers compilation called Under The Covers. This is an all Filipino indie compilation that features great bands like The Jealous Sea, Fantasy Lights, The Wentletraps and Carnival Park, among others. Download links are found in the Filipino Indiepop Scene Myspace blog.

And lastly, our debut full-length, Half-Steps Toward Bright Skies is currently on sale. $5 in the US, $7 for the rest of the world, so hurry now and order yourself a copy!
